About
Welcome to Solara by Tara

I've always known, even as a little girl, that I would end up doing something creative. Art and aesthetics have been my passion for as long as I can remember. I loved to draw, spending hours with pencil and paper, creating lines and shapes that brought my imagination to life.
This calling led me to art school in Glasgow, where I studied silversmithing and jewellery design. When I moved to France, I found myself starting fresh in a new country, which led me to a wonderful discovery at a local bead shop.
For 20 years, I worked surrounded by beautiful beads of every colour and texture imaginable. During that time, I fell deeply in love with the art of beadwork and the endless possibilities it offers for creating something truly special.
My Creative Philosophy
I'm inspired by light, positivity, good vibes, and beautiful objects—and I strive to portray all of this through my work. There's something magical about the way light dances through glass and crystal, transforming a space and lifting the spirit.
What I love most is mixing different materials, colours, and finishes to create harmony. I combine matte and polished surfaces, smooth stones and faceted crystals, warm wood and gleaming metal. Each texture and finish plays its part in the overall composition, creating depth and visual interest.

In many ways, my work echoes that little girl who loved to draw. Working with wire is like drawing in three dimensions—each curve and twist is a line in space, creating shapes and patterns that capture light and shadow. It's a beautiful continuation of that early creative impulse, now expressed through glass, crystal, stone, wood, and metal.
Today, I create one-of-a-kind suncatchers and wall hangings that blend all these elements together. Whether catching the light or adding texture and colour to your walls, each piece is designed to uplift your space and radiate positivity into your daily life.
Every creation at Solara by Tara is made with care and intention, bringing together my lifelong passion for art and my love of beautiful, meaningful objects.
